For years, my husband Bill and I loaded the girls into the car to hit local yard sales and estate sales. Sometimes they even liked it. I adore everything vintage, handmade, or repurposed. I also love the creative process. Why would I buy if I could DIY? The majority of my time is spent hand-painting, refinishing, or upcycling. However, we often score items pickin’ that I just can’t bare to change from their original purpose (or finish). While I wish I could store all my could-be masterpieces, Bill told me to “keep it to the greenhouse.” I interpreted that statement as the greenhouse, the entire basement, and occasionally part of the living room. I often change out my own decor or simply can’t keep everything I create. Have you seen my repurposed lamp phase…ahem…which will probably return this summer? How many bird baths and feeders can one yard hold? And, how many times should these little guys bathe? Hence, Circa One Eighteen was born.
Right on this site, you can find a few of my most popular, smallish, shippable items. You can also shop on Etsy where most of my store is made up of cool, kitschy, vintage finds. While I no longer am a dealer for Chalk Couture* it is pretty amazing so I’ve linked to their home page.
My husband and I have a booth year-round located on the lower level of the Antiques at Annapolis antique mall. I also pop up with the gals at HERE. a pop up shop several times a year.
As you can see, the site is still a work in progress, but thanks for visiting! Return often. My goal is to get more of My Projects photographed and posted soon with great before & after shots including a few step-by-step tutorials.
And, we want to meet you! So, be sure to check out our current and soon-to-be brick and mortar Locations, as we will be popping up all over Maryland. Come on in and see us!
xo and sweet pickin’,
Jaime
